Sa7ten, a Palestinian community-led initiative fundamentally different from traditional NGOs. We are not external saviors but an extension of our community, born from the urgency of our reality and committed to mutual aid.

Our work is a direct response to the needs identified by Palestinians on the ground, driven by the devastating realities of the ongoing genocide and Israeli occupation. We challenge the power dynamics of traditional aid by placing decision-making power where it belongs – in the hands of our community. Our efforts are explicitly political, grounded in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom and justice, not in notions of neutrality that ignore oppression.

We uphold dignity (karama) by treating people as partners, not passive recipients, listening deeply, and providing support that affirms humanity amidst inhumanity. We foster agency (tamkeen) by recognizing and supporting the power of our people to shape their own destiny, facilitating community-led solutions when calls come for essential needs like clean water, shelter, medical care, and support for doctors and teachers.

Our immense work reflects this ethos. We have undertaken over hundreds of activities, including constructing and repairing wells that are systematically destroyed by the occupation forces, building mosques and schools, and providing essential support like community kitchens that have cooked for vast numbers of people. During the siege, our team remained in the north, providing food when a bag of flour cost $1000 and constructing toilets when people lacked access.

We have supported hospitals, provided financial aid to the injured and medical staff, and launched campaigns for specific needs like baby formula and support for kidney failure patients. Every action, from building infrastructure to providing targeted medical supplies, is a testament to Palestinian resilience and self-determination.
